Thinking about getting back into a compadre or silver uMax. I have a Teknetics Delta 4000 that I'm thinking about trading for one. The delta has maybe 10 hours on it, if that. With all paperwork and box. I'm familiar with the compadre, but not the silver. Mainly I want to break my dependency on looking at a screen.
Let me know your opinions!

do a search,,, we just had a three page thread on this subject,,,,, I still like my Silver for all around coins and jewelry. I like the fact that I can change coils and it hits on the smallest of targets. I think the Compadre may get the SMALL gold chains better,,, but I feel I'm not missing very much AT ALL with my Silver,,,, the compadre is just to singular in use for me....
Yeah, I have both and that's really the best of both worlds. I use the Compadre more than I do the Silver because I found about 4 gold rings this year with it. Can't go wrong whatever you decide. Yeah, you'll find the smaller gold with the Compadre, but also more tiny annoying stuff. It's the nature of the beast.
I just purchased a Compadre. I have been using a White's MXT Pro and purchased the Compadre as a run around the park for my wife. After the purchase, I found this little machine to be more sensitive on some things than I thought possible. I love the light weight. If all the Tesoro's are as good, I will purchase a Lobo next. I have a compadre now, and the weight and simplicity is what I love about it. I keep one in my car, and wanted another tesoro for my work van. Never know when I might be out working and see a spot that needs hunting! I have lots of garrett machines, and my latest, an AT Pro, has reminded me how much fun a beep and dig detector can be. I have read lots of good things about the Delta, but I never took the time to learn it. From the reviews I have read, I'm convinced that it is a good unit. I just don't want to put forth the effort to learn it. I also have a sneaking suspicion that I miss a lot of good targets by depending on the target ID to tell me what it is. I have increased my finds by not looking at the display, and just going on audio from the AT Pro. Compared to the compadre, it is a heavy machine!!
Thanks for the input!
