Compadre Mods.

I'm considering a compadre. What mods have you guys done to this little guy? Anything welcomed. Increased sens, all welcomed. I saw a sens mod on here the other but can't find it now. What have you got? I have other and expensive detectors I just don't want to void the warranty on, but this little thing is relatively cheap, it might be a cool travel-along detector. Thanks, appreciate you help, Ron.

The Compadre is a great machine, but for just a few dollars more you can have the Silver Umax and then you don't really need to mod anything on it. The Silver Umax Has Disc, where the Compadre doesn't and it is a killer on silver coins. I Don't know of any mods for the Compadre other than a Ground Balance mod maybe. I have the Silver Umax it really is a great machine. I would love to have another Tesoro but money doesn't allow me to right now. If I didn't have a family I would be all over the detectors I want, but I wouldn't trade my family for anything, well maybe a Minelab but that's another story.

The compadre has Disc as well as all metal.......It also operates at 12khz versus 10khz on the silver umax. The compadre is better on gold as well.

Oh that's right it does have the disc knob, but there is no sens knob. I like to have both, but I still like the Silver Umax over the Compadre. But that's just my taste, it might work really well for you.

Compadre has both sensitivity and ground balance trimmer pots inside. It is possible to bring those to the front panel. Can also add a connector so that coils can be swapped. Or if you just have a particular coil you want to use, can just wire in that coil.
