I really didn't have much time, about 30 minutes before meeting the wife to help our son paint his porch.
But while I was waiting, I stopped at an old house that our family owns, about 45 years old, vacant and for sale. Plugged in the SunRay Pros (also the first time for them) and started scanning by the driveway where passengers get out of cars. I played around with the disc, as I was getting a lot of broken signals in AM setting, then just figured I'd turn it all the way up to silver just to see if I got anything. 2 minutes, a solid hit. Dug 3" and found a turn buckle, stainless steel. 3 minutes later, another solid hit produced a 1979 quarter. A few more minutes and two clad pennies, about 2' apart. Another few minutes and a solid hit. I dug about 8", and with a Lesche, I would have to open the hole up more, so I left it. It was still solid in the center of the hole with a 3X3 inch hole down 2 inches pass the top of my Lesche blade. Another hit brought another clad quarter. It was time to leave and meet my wife.
Once at my sons, I brought out the Compadre and showed my wife and son my new "toy". As I was showing my wife the unit with it on, I got a solid signal in my sons front yard. I was going to leave it but he said he didn't think it was a coin. He said I could dig the plug, and lo and behold, another quarter. Now most people are happy if 20% of their hits are productive. In 30-35 minutes, 3 quarters, 2 pennies, 1 turn buckle and a nail.(plus whatever was in the hole, probably a can at that depth. So my percentage was better than I expected.
I love this little bugger, and it is unbelievably light. The tone is louder and lower than the Deleon. And the response extremely fast. I found myself swinging faster than I do with the Deleon. I don't know if it's because of the light weight, smaller coil or just that it was begging me to. I love it.
