I ran the Compadre around the backyard this afternoon for an hour or so. Covering the areas I've hit before with the idea to keep clearing out trash. I dug quite a bit of aluminum slaw and small washers with the dial set at the back edge of iron. I've been using this setting because it hits nickels quite well. As luck would have it I scored two, a 2001 Jefferson and this a 1924 Indian Head you could actually read the date on. It was buried at 6 inches or so in the old gravel drive under a thin layer of grass and soil. You can see the digs in the surface. This is the first Indian Head I've found back there with a readable date on it. My neighbor asked when I was going to get around to the property he just bought a couple of blocks over. Maybe later this week. I want to get to it especially after the wife mentioned it's located near the old storage area for the fort that was in the area around the 1840's.
