Did I mention it is raining again today? Looked at the radar on the weather channel and it looked like it would stop or almost stop for an hour or two. So went out and had to wait in the car for about 20-30 minutes and the rain slowed. Picked up 44 coins and pendent for a necklace. Gad that pendent came out of the ground all shiny and sparkling like my smile when I about to eat a Klondike bar. When I got home it has a 925 on the back with some symbols that I can't make out, not even with a 10x jewelers loupe. The gold paint is coming off. So maybe not 925 either? I probably should have left it in my pouch for the night and got it out tomorrow morning. At least I would have had dreams of gold all night.
Thanks for stopping by and Happy Trails......Z

maybe gold plated sterling , nice finds , Certanly a lot of things in the ground

Guys thanks for the replies. It may shin, sparkle and look good, lets face it, it still is bling. The only sad part is that the person that lost it could be really missing it? :sadwalk:
I like finding things and that is why I go out detecting. When I find something no matter what it brings joy with it. I appreciate finding things but I don't want to belong to it. Being retired I spend/trade/gift the money, gold/silver I find for things I would like that I would not buy with my income money. That is why this hobby is so great. Enjoy... Thanks again and Happy Trails.....Z

Its been so long since I found any gold. Last time out I found a gold plated pin that sure appeared to be real. I thought what good way to end the day packed it up and went home . LOL

You are a steady eddie on clad with a few golden trinkets and baubles showing up every year...:clapping:

Hatpin: I make it just about detecting and finding coins. I am never disappointed. When I only find a few coins it isn't so good but it was fun being out there. I had a job that sucked big time. I played the lottery everyday ($1) picked my own numbers. I didn't win that day but tomorrow I had another chance and I would walk away from the job if I won. I was the happiest guy working there. I came into the station saying, " I love this job." Today could be my last day so why not enjoy it and have fun. That is what I did. It added years to my being there and I now have a fair retirement and happy I will have another try at metal detecting tomorrow.

Mud: I find trinkets that bring me pleasure besides the coins. By the way that 14K bracelet I got $180 for it. Just like you said. Bought two of those hot/cold mugs that keep cold for 12 hours and hot for 7 hours or something like that. It is nice to get in the car after detecting and have a nice cold drink waiting for me. I feel like a king. It is getting better and better.... Z

ZeeKeys, first off congratulations on your finds. Second - thanks for your words of wisdom in this crazy hobby. I recently struggled with only finding a few coins because my buddy put that into my head - return on your time. Bunch of crap - I enjoy finding stuff and it always come with a reward, unlike other hobbies - this one pays back.
Thanks again and Happy Hunting to you today and always!
