Compadre gets lucky today from 1887

Got very lucky today. Ran the Compadre over a section of grass between the sidewalk and our side street. Got a solid hit trying to negotiate around some of the long buried iron pipes from old city utilities back in the day. Got a solid repeat signal for just a moment and tried again to find it. Sure enough was able to pinpoint it under the coil. Cut a plug in the soft soil and kept checking with the Compadre. Got down to about 6 inches and still got a solid hit. Broke out the Garrett Pin Pointer and probed some more. Finally closer to 8 inches the signal was gone between scoops. Checking the sand soil pile with my fingers and the pin pointer came up with a 1887 Indian Head penny. Decent find since it's only two years newer than our house.

Now thats cool! It was all safe and sound snuggled up next to that deep pipe all these years, and then you came along with that Compadre!..That kind of a target is a real trophy, well done!:clapping:

That Compadre sure is doing you right. I like hunting those grassy areas between the curb and sidewalk. Lots of good stuff is dropped and lost there.

My Compadre has the 8 inch coil. Makes it easy to pinpoint since the donut hole is where the target should be. Good depth and very sensitive to small targets.

see this is another witness, and testimony to the compadres ability to get close to Iron and pick out targets, I mean pipes fences ect,ect keep working it in those situations and you will get what no other detector can get , you have the advantage ,,, use it
