Compadre Freak out moment .......

yesterday when i took a break from working in the shop. i decided to get out the Compadre and work off some of the lunch i had just eaten. after griding off a small area of the side yard, i had made my second pass and was getting up from about the second target. i proceeded along the way and it dawned on me that the detector may not be active. after turning it off and back on, it was confirmed. thinking it was either a dead battery or a loose connection i removed the battery cover, then the battery and re-installed. still no sound. i removed the pin-pointer battery and tried that with no luck. thinking it was audio related, i go into the house to try the headphones. only then did i hear that its getting power as i can hear a slight thump/thud through the phones when turning the unit on. getting FREAKED i took a personal moment and relaxed a bit. a few minutes later i went back to the unit and powered it back up and all is well. any of you Compadre owners ever had this happen?

thanks in advance and HH<Spider

No. It sounds like you might be developing a bad connection within the detector. If it happens again, I would send it in for a test.

Well initially that's what I thought. That's when I trouble shot with the headphones, getting the VERY faint thump/thud. Thinking back I recall having my IPhone in my right pocket, which is very near the body of the unit while searching. Is it possible that it over loaded? I know it plays havoc with puters if too close. Just a thought.....

What y'all think?
