Compadre fired up for a weather break.

I couldn't take it anymore and the weather gave me a little break to run the Compadre.
First couple areas I checked were under water or soupy mud, so I went off the back edge tree line behind an old park. Was not the best conditions but I needed to get some swing time in. Surface mostly had a little standing water and a bit muddy in some parts.
I dropped the Pocket Uni-Probe and was lucky it didn't get submerged in standing water. This was one situation where I should of had the Vibra-Probe 560 due to the water-proof design. Actually it was in the car trunk and I didn't feel like walking back - I just wanted to swing a coil.
I have hunted this area a number of times with other machines - now was a good time to yank Compadre around in some trashy ground. At times I had to work very short swings when I thought I got a good audio signal and from different angles, trying to work around the trash. At least I got some silver - actually better than I expected - so Compadre
Here is the coin with some junk - still have a few pennies in the pouch - the dime is stuck to a penny

Turned out this penny wasn't copper

Tab-nabit ... Mighty fine goods there man!!:clapping: Heading out tomorrow morning to hook up with a hunting buddy. Hope I'm half that lucky.... :super:

That's great how you can just go out and pull up some silver coins.

I haven't had much luck. Researching some possible sites for Spring.

I'll keep my fimgers crossed.

HH,

The amazing duo of :pulltab:dog and :tesoro:Compadre strikes again, and again, and again!

nice! That "43" penny is a winner. And silver to boot. Great hunt there tab!

I'd LOVE to find at least one Liberty before I die!!!!!

I have never swung the Silver Saber II, but I'm itching now to get the Compadre and another Tesoro machine this afternoon.
Looks like a storm is moving in so it will be touch and go.
Maybe a Silver Saber II swinger out there can enlighten on this.

I got a few Lib's (maybe 8 - 10) in this area in past years hunts. I was surprised since it's been a while since I got a Lib in this area.
What really surprised me is the number of mercs I got in the past in this area and this time not one merc which what I was expecting.
A Lib instead - so I'm not complaining. I'm actually happy-happy-happy!!!
Seem to always get some wheat's which are soaking still from the hunt.

Thanks - I think I over did it on the spot with the scratchy pad I carry. But it's still in better condition than all others I think I dug.
I'm really wanting to get out there again this afternoon - weather may be a factor today.
I want to hit a few other productive spots but the rain and muddy conditions are against it.

I think it's great how you vacuum up in the tot lots. To many regulars run rounds in the tot lots around here on a routine basis. I know a guy who does this. He has a list of the tot lots and he goes from one to the next and hopes by the time he loops around to the top of the list, more goods are waiting for him. He says sometimes others randomly hit the lots making the competition tough.
So I re-work and expand some areas where I did well for silver starting 20 - 25 years ago or so. Every now and then I add a new area if testing them is productive. It's getting tougher but expanding, using other machines, and slowing down seems to be my way now.
I have a new hot spot this last fall that did very well but various factors determine when I can get in there to hunt. I'm waiting for the next opportunity.
I got some very nice stuff there. The area is very trashy in most of it. It's been hidden from me for years because of the trees, vegetation, and landscape.
I decided to park and walk to this spot once and don't know why. My son and I hit good targets on our first hunt there. Seems to me that nobody else has swung a machine in this area and places like that are hard to find within a short driving distance. I would have never known it if I didn't take that walk.
In the few time times we have hit this spot, we got silver and other goodies every time. It's currently under water and I almost feel like getting my neoprene waders on but better to play is safe than sorry.

Thanks Tony - I hope you and your buddy does well.
I'm wanting to hit the same spot this afternoon. A storm is brewing in so it's touch and go at the moment.
Usually I get a few wheat's and hope for another merc. This time I didn't find a single merc  and I came out very muddy but happy-happy-happy.
This spot did me good at first but in the last half year or so it's getting slow. So this hunt really surprised me. I worked slow and methodically and did way better than expected. Actually I couldn't hunt in a couple other areas so gave this place another hit on the fringe areas. Did way better than I would have expected. Got a little wet, muddy, and cold to the bones but the second dig, a 35 quarter got me all fired up.
Getting back home with the poor little dog, we all wet and muddy - a smile on my face - the wife just shook her head and said in the garage
