I went out for a short hunt and tried a ball field. One thing I did learn when it beeps there is something there. I just can't get over the amount of stuff I have walked over the past years. Sometimes finding 2, 3, 4 tabs, caps or??? in a hole. With all that in the ground I just can't believe that there isn't a lot of good targets being masked out? Anything that beeped I dug. I was digging 6" and more on some of the targets. I went in back of the back stop and along the 3rd base line at the fence to 3rd base and called it a day. In back of the back stop there was a lot of trash and that is where I picked up nickels, dimes and pennies just sitting on the grass. Dug a lot of targets and it was fun and a good learning experience. I really wonder how many good target are hidden? I am using Tabman's settings just Disc out foil sports bottle cap. Pictures are good and trash dug today..... Thanks for stopping in and I'll leave the light on.... Happy Trails......Z

You should be proud of that trash pile and bunch of nickels. It won't be long before the gold rings will start popping up. They come when you least expect them.:)

when i see a pile of trash like that I am strangely comforted because i see you get it , I agree Gold is in the future,

Five nickels !! And some of those pennies look as if they have been there for a while....even from where I am (upside down in the frost) it seems you are on the right road to finding good things. Keep it up.

Great job with that Compadre so far! I hope you are loving it! I am guessing any day now you will be posting a gold ring!

Found three "nice" rings last weekend and 20$ in clad. Rings are not gold or silver but not kids either. , any one could have been worth $$$ . I trust my compadre more than ever now .

Keep at it you will hit many gold and silvers

Lotsa stuff! :surprised: You are really getting in shape and endurance back up huh? Good work!:please:

I am not into exercising. I do an exercise every morning in the front room. That is all the exercise I want to do. I have never been after jewelry or gold. I just go out metal detecting to enjoy the outdoors and give the wife a little free time at home. I think she would harm me physically if I was around all the time. It is about what is in the ground that is interesting? I can metal detect free. I get to see, feel and own it right after I dig it up. It burns up time and keeps me in shape (30 pounds less) and has surprises that sometimes are far better than anything I could buy. It is one heck of a hobby. No I have never paid for a detector yet. I keep buying those newfangled detectors that tell me more and more what not to dig. And of course I get frustrated because it lies to me often. So when the Compadre beeps it just says, it is up to you, there is something there? Thanks for kind words of encouragement ....Z

I sure enjoy when someone comes along with a new compadre and just has a blast digging everything. We all dig everything. It is something about them compadres that keep you digging. What a wonderful little detector. I am glad you are having fun... KEN. Ind

I did an actual hunt this week where I actually went behind two other detectors I had used and the Compare hit 3 QUARTERS I had missed! Among other cons I missed.

Ken I am enjoying going out and hunting with the Compadre. I really don't want to quit when I am out there. I do come home very tired because I just want to keep detecting.

Slingshot I have been doing that with the Compadre going to places that I have hit with other detectors. It finds much stuff....Z
