The compadre runs at 12Khz, is it possible to wire other Tesoro coils and they will work since they run at 10Khz plus???? Thanks

Most of the Tesoro land coils were designed to work across the full line of machines, including those operating in the 10 and 12 kHz ranges. I've done several modifications on Compadres/Amigos by hard-wiring other sizes of coils in place of the stock 7 inch. This is a "chopped-off" pinpointer with 4 inch coil that Steve Herschbach made for gold nugget hunting..... This one was made using a Silver uMax, but I've seen others made using the Compadre as well.

Have you ever heard of tweaking the freguency to 14Khz and say using a MXT coil(s) if compatable????

I found this pic on a German Tesoro website. I think its an official tesoro product as its listed with all the other current offerings. It is called the Tesoro Mini.

I've seen several modifications like these, but never a "factory" mod. Don't know if Tesoro actually made any like that or not.
