Compadre coil

Good morning, Gents

A couple of questions and comments. I have a bit of a dilemma, I left my Compadre a little close to a Coleman Lantern and the side where the coil enters the box melted. I love the little machine and carry it most anywhere I go. It has the 5.75" coil and does a great job. Now my question is, If I bought a new Compadre with the 8" coil, could I use the 5.75" coil with the new machine. If so...I would have to make a splice, what would be the best way to do this.

Several have done this mod so they can exchange coils.
Some have directions and parts list.
Do a search and try Skiwhiz as the author first.

You should be able to get a replacement housing and possibly Tesoro would even put it on for you, especially if you are the first owner and filled out the warranty.
