Compadre Coil Swap

Herb Jones

New member
Once a modification has been completed that allows for coil changes on the Compadre,
which coils seem to give the best performance?
What does not seem to work as well?
What have you tried?

I have never done this mod but over the years I have read about many that have.
Good results were attained with other Epsilon coils including the large DD, the brown donut and at least in one case the clean sweep.
The donut coil is of course an option on current models now but still hardwired.

From what I remember most had no issues but a few did some extra tuning...adjusted the GB for their particular soil.
This is an adjustment you should only attempt if you know what you are doing because those pots are fragile and can be broken easily and too much adjustment either way can really mess up the machine and make it unusable if you screw it up.

if your ground is easy all the small coils will work great  I added a sens pot to help smooth it out if need be http://www.findmall.com/read.php?22,2320067 and use the CSC works great in easy ground.
