Compadre Coil Question

wolf

New member
Hello,

I am new to the forum and may I add its a great place for info and detector discussion.

I have been detecting on and off for 15 years and I just need a detector to hit the Tot Lots when things are a little slow.

So today a friend of mine in the US purchased a Tesoro Compadre for me for $95 which has only been used 5 times :)

Absolute bargain since these cost about $399 in Australia.

My question is is the coil waterproof and can it be submerged in water?

Thanks for viewing.

So, the question that first came to MY mind was, Are Aussie 'Tot-Lots' frequently located in a submersed setting?

Just funnin' with you. The Compadre's coil, and all of Tesoro's coil, are waterproof up to the coil connector on their land-based models, and with the hard-wired Compadre that means keep the control housing high-and-dry.

I wonder if a person still buy a 7" coil with the Compadre NEW on special order or are ALL of them are made with ONLY the 5.75" coil with no option??

Good question. I've wondered the same thing. I really like the 7" concentric on my umax machines.
