i have all three of these great machines... i am planning a trip to Virginia Beach this summer, now i thought i had read somewhere before that i could use these in the dry sand but not the wet sand because they do not have manual ground balance... just wanted to make sure i can use them in the dry sand at least so its not a total waste taking them... thanks in advance

Yes you can use the Cibola and the Compadre, I know that for a fact because I've used them.

Between the two, take the Cibola.

It goes deeper and the larger coil is a plus on the beach.
