Compadre audible battery check?

fjlee

New member
I'm familiar with the loud BEEEEEP that is the battery check feature of the Compadre, which occurs every time you turn the unit ON. I gather this loud piercing BEEEEP indicates GOOD BATTERY.

What does it sound like if the battery is borderline good, or maybe badly discharged?

No sound at all? Feeble chirpy-chattery beeep? Or what?

During active usage........let's say I am vigorously out there "swinging"......how do I know when the battery becomes depleted beyond limits.....while in use?

Tnx folks........ FjLee in Denver CO

A short beep when you power it up means low battery.
WHile hunting, I guess if it goes silent and doesn't beep at all, dead battery.

Hi FjLee, just a suggestion in case you haven't given it full thought yet about low battey situations..If you don't have one already pick up a Battery tester so you can always check your batteries prior to your hunt. And especially remember to check NEW batteries before you install them and to make sure your machine fires up after installing them.Always have fresh Batteries close by., or with you. . New Batteries are sometimes faulty..I learned that early on after a long walk into the woods one time after installing New batteries, but not testing them or the machine.Never considered testing "New"batteries or needing any "spares". When I finally got to my hunt site and turned on my detector I heard only silence.Kicked myself all the long way back to the truck. HH, Charlie

Not sure how to battery check, but when my cibola got low today , wow it threw me!, Beep, beep, beep, beep like chatter, but would not go away. For a min I thought my coil wire was causing it, lol

Whenever it becomes just a short beep and I'm using it, I'll start getting a little ground or target signal noise or overrun. I usually, therefore change it on a short beep. The battery lasts so long (with headphones) and they're so cheap I just go ahead before the last moment and change the battery.
