Dead Shot watch fob, toy pistol, found with Compadre at site where old house had been torn down. Sterling ice skates, found with Compadre at local park, '44 war nickel found with Compadre rechecking a curb strip that I had searched with other detectors.

'43 Merc dime found with Silver uMax in curb strip. Justrite carbide miners lamp ( sorry for blurry pics ) found with Silver uMax at old cabin site.

I like to hunt with my Tesoros now again for a change of pace. They are light, fun to use, and easy on batteries. And they find some neat stuff too !

It looks like you had a very good time. I love detecting the narrow grassy area between the curb and sidewalk, especially if cars park along them.

There you go. My two best detectors. The compadre and the silver. They are with me at all times. You just can not beet a Tesoro... KEN

NICE'

I like 'em too Tabman ! While driving, i spotted one that looked like it might be good. It rewarded me with some clad and a 1914 barber dime. See my recent post on the CZ forum.

Thanks Hatpin, I have another picture that shows the other side of the fob, but it said it was too large. It was sized the same as the other pictures, but didn't go thru. If you would like to see a really nice one (fob), check out the one on ebay. Dead Shot Antique Watch Fob, $389.00. It's a beauty.
I found a watch fob last winter while shallow water hunting. It was a plow works watch fob from Racine Wisconsin. It would be interesting to know the story of how it came from Wisconsin and got lost in a lake in north Idaho.

One possibility..... Idaho had (and still does have) the largest stands of White Pine in the world. You'll notice that a lot of the old logging families in the N. idaho area have family ties to Wisconsin, Minnesota, etc. Years ago when they leveled all the White Pine back there the loggers migrated west to idaho to log the huge virgin stands we have (had) out here. Idaho White Pine commands top dollar only because few places have the QUALITY of Idaho white pine. Canada has very little, almost none in Wash. or Mt., and whats left back east is of poor quality. Basically N Idaho got settled by white americans soon after the french Canadian Hudson Bay Co. trappers gave up the North west trapping grounds which included N. Idaho. Loggers, miners, and the American Fur Co./ Rocky Mtn. Fur Co. came and settled......

On the other hand....found a coin from Mongolia in the C'dA City Park....go figure? Took it to a coin shop in C'dA and had 2 guys try and buy the coin from me for $20. Coin shop guy and the 2 others 'claimed" that what made the coin so unique was that Mongolia is landlocked...they said communist coins not a real big deal to get from countries with sea ports but landlocked is apparently another story...????

Never know what will turn up or where or how.....?????

Thanks for the good information oneguy. I think you are right on, some guy in the timber industry probably lost his watch fob. I find logging relics in the lake, log boom chains, peaveys, logging dawg. Are you in TFalls oneguy ? My wifes daughter lives in Plains. A Mongolian coin found in the CDA Park ? Thats weird. As you say, you never know what will turn up. Did you see my post on the crematorium tag ?
