compadre and Nimh batteries

Hi

one of my choices for next detector is a compadre.:detecting: I use BH MD's with rechargeable 9V (250ma) Ni-mh batteries , and they give me poor results (6 hours instead of about twenty for alkaline)

Now I'd like to know if some compadre -or other

I use Duracell 9 volt batteries.

I use headphones all the time and they last
so long it doesn't matter. They say 30 hours,
but it seems longer than that.

I would thing your rechargeable wold last some longer than you indicate. Do you use headphones? Headphones extend battery life considerably.

Somewhere out here on the web someone ran a test of AA's, comparing cost of their use to rechargeables...

Name brand AA's bought at a best price discount were far than Nicad purchase and getting set up with charger and all.

By 'better,' it was broken down to a cost per hour basis over a number of years.

you need a powerex 9.6 volt rechargeable. They last longer that the energizer bunny. Best battery on the market. Do a search on the net and you will find them

Tabdog, we have a Duracell factory over here, they claim they make the best alkaline batteries in this part of the universe. But I don't know the US price for one Duracell PP3 9V, the equivalent here should be about $10 !

I do use headphones, I think the poor performance of my rechargeable with BH md's is due to Bounty Hunter self. The batteries will work fine (20-30 hrs) if used with another unit, the CS 550.

So I am curious to know how Ni-mh batteries are used by the
