COMPADRE and Batteries

Something is wrong with my battery that I got with my Compadre. It wont go dead. I have been using the same battery for 2 and 1/2 months now. I hunt 5 days a week in the mornings for 90 minutes before work. It still is going strong. The owners manual says 10 to 20 hours. I do use head phones. My luck, it will go dead the next time I turn it on. How many hours can you get with a battery????? KEN

I believe that the Compadre will get 2 and 1/2 months and 1 day out of a battery :poke:. I find that all of the Tesoro detectors have excellent battery life.

I get one battery for my Compadre and it will last me the year. It is my backup detector so it us not used all the time. It is one of the positive aspects of the machine.

I've been impressed with the battery life on Tesoros, also. In fact, my motto is "if I'm concerned about battery life that's great because it means I've been detecting a lot."

If my math is right, I have around 75 hours on one battery. I hunted today for 3 hours. It still sounds strong. Maybe my Compadre has a built in soler panel that I can not see. Is this unheard of?... KEN

My Vaquero came with a Panasonic Industrial battery that has close to 20 hours, if not more and still gets the four or five beeps when you turn it on. I believe the batteries that come with the new machines are better than the normal alkaline batteries and last longer. My next battery( UltraLife Litho) that I try will be a contractor grade that the local fire department recommends for smoke alarms. HH

Oh--there's something wrong with that detector, you better send it in right away!-----Maybe these great little machines DO come with built in solar panels.;)----That is amazing battery life & for one 9v battery.-----What brand of battery is it?----I gotta get me some of 'em (I'm serious).

Hey Ken, .Kamusta ka na ? Actually, the answer to that is simple. That Compadre is still on Filipino time !!!! Just don't say anything; it'll never know the difference.

The brand of battery I use is Energizer Advanced Lithiun.. A little more money,, but they last forever....KEN
