Compadre/Amigo II

Amigo dont know  but if its like the compadre its a keeper

......I've used both the 5.75 and 7" Compadre but have not tried the 8" version yet, sold both and got the Amigo ll, all are great detectors.

The Amigo ll has an operating frequency of 10 kHz and the Compadre has a 12 kHZ freq. I can not tell the difference in performance between the two.

I just like the speed handle, straight rod set up on the Amigo ll better than the 'S' rod set-up on the Compadre. And since I don't thumb the Disc....the awkward knob position on the Amigo is of no consequence. They both have a love for small gold and are great in the trash at separation and quick recovery from target to target. Either way you decide, you will be happy, I'm sure.

Hi Rob, I'll second Hombre's thoughts on the A II. I have a Compadre 5.75 for the extra trashy sites and a couple of A II's and I prefer the straight Rod A II. It just seems to work or me and is a real fun machine to use. It finds stuff when everything else begins to slow down. Either of the 2 will getter done but some of us old guys just can't help being a little old school in our ways of enjoying things. HH, Charlie

Some like the Amigo II better and for an older detector they fetch as much or more money than a used Compadre.
It may have something to do with the 7" coil the Amigo comes with.
