Compadre a Tot Lot BEAST!!!!

Purchased a new Compadre for my daughter to use at playgrounds, tot lots, etc. I mostly just do old ghost towns and home sites, but occasionally I'll take the kids to a playground and detect while they play around. Lately I can't keep my daughter off my DeLeon and my MXT is way too heavy for her, so I figured I would get her a Compadre. Affordable, lite weight, great quality, Lifetime warranty, and it's a Tesoro, so you know you can't go wrong!

Well, I get up early and decide to hit a local school playground a few blocks away to try out her Compadre. Well, this thing is a blast! Feels like swinging a small stick and this baby was eating up coins and small jewelry, and a sterling silver ring, like a beast! I even dug a couple of coins at appx 5 inches and I had the Disc set just below nickles. Wow, I'm thinking I'm going to have to work a deal with her on using her Compadre!

Well, she finds out where I've been and she wants to try out her new Compadre. We go to another playground, she with the Compadre, me with the DeLeon. I bet her an icee on who produces the most. Needless to say, she kicks my a$$ and I owe her an icee. She was killing Quarters and was the only one to produce a nickle. I'm not even sure if she ever dug any trash, but I could hear her Compadre popping and I knew she was putting the dagger deeper in every time I saw her digging!

I know several folks on this forum really sing the praises of the Compadre and I can tell I'll be another. I don't care if you only use it for tot lots, it's worth the small price tag! Great little detector! I see myself "borrowing" this baby frequently! Way lighter than my MXT and even quite a bit lighter than the DeLeon. Don't fool yourself, the Compadre is a great little detector!!!!

The picture is our haul after about 1 1/2 hours of detecting. Not bad for a $150 detector!!!

My daughter is 10 also and that brings up another point. The Compadre can literally be adjusted from a 4 foot person to an 8 foot person. The adjust ability is almost limitless!

Also, took out the Compadre before church this morning and came home with two more rings! Sterling silver mens wedding ring and a small 14k young girls ring with several small, I'm assuming fake, diamonds. Also, probably $3 in clad. Not sure if she's getting this baby back!

This would be a great detector to leave in the trunk and hit those places you come across when you wish you had your detector with you. It breaks down to practically nothing and weighs only a pound or two. Great stow and go detector!

There's just something about the price point, simplicity, and effectiveness that makes the Compadre a real fun little machine to use. You just don't see a lot of negatives about it. How can anyone not like that little booger.

What a nice outing you & your daughter had--really enjoyed your post!----I got a Silver a short time ago for the grandkids to use.----Hmm. I'll bet one of them needs one of those neat little Compadres to!!  -------Del
