To all the forum, and in particular to TB, works better the Compadre with 5.75"or 7"...?

Hello, this is indeed a question for Tabdog, as he's got both Mr and Mrs Speedy.

I am curious to read his opinion.

As for myself, after almost a year of thinking and hesitating, I decided for the compadre with 5,75" coil.

Strange enough, I noticed that in the Netherlands, and for 20 euro more, you can order the compadre with a.....8" coil !

Being an avid beach and modern coin hunter, I am quite sure the compadre will do a good job.

I like simple detectors.

I had a Compadre with the 7" coil and it worked very well. Wish I hadn't sold itl. Haven't used the current model with the 5.75", but it should be great in trashy areas as long as you don't mind covering a little less ground per swing.

Hay Antonio,

Hope you are doing well.

I got my new Compadre with the 5.75 coil

not long ago.

I have been sick for about 5 days and have

only been able to use the new one a few times.

I am still learning the responses, but am getting

it fast. Need more swing time.

At this point, I think that the 5.75 may be a little

deeper on small targets. But while my 7" is not

working, I can not compare them side by side.

From what I have learned so far the 5.75" coil

actually works better than the 7" coil.

I will say that the 5.75" coil has better depth

and seperation at the same time. Supprise, supprise!

That's hard to say because I just love the 7" coil.

But nothing says I can't love both of them.

That's my honest opinion.

I will have more to go on as I get more swing time

and MR Speedy gets back.

Happy Hunting,

Tabdog

For most of the trashy hunting I do, I usually nab the 5.75 without 2nd thought. Gets good depth, separates well - works swell. A favorite for me.
