Just putting this out there. Is anyone from the ( or near ) Onslow county, in North Carolina? I'll be down for 10 days with my son for the Thanksgiving Holiday season....Trying to decide to bring my detector or not. I would if I could hook up with a local to spend a day with, doing some detecting....Relic hunting, coin shooting, beach hunting, it's all fine with me.....Drop me a pm or post here, I'll be checking in and I have till the 22nd to decide.

Cheers,

Ned and David

Well I go down to EI about 2 times a year. It is a great place to be. Go ahead and take your detector. The beach hunting will be (or should) be good this time of year. The chance that you will run into another beach hunter is good. Enjoy yourself and good luck, Beale.

Have a good time. Emerald Isle should be ok, lately the beach is crazy, sand is taken and replinished, sometimes too much. Good luck. If you come a bit south pm me and I will go with you. South of Jacksonville NC. is where I live.

Beale, Thanks for the heads up on the EI beaches, I love spending time on the beaches there with my son and my Dads dogs.... Usually we spend some time on the Bogue Pier also, doing a little fishing. I'm starting to lean on the side of taking the detector along on this trip.

Thanks,
Ned

Hi Eric,

Jacksonville is only a short 20 min ride from me. I may be going down to Wilmington also for a day, to visit a friend at his farm, we both breed show birds, American Gamefowl....

If you would like to maybe talk about trying to hook up for a morning hunt, please feel free to PM me here at the site. I'll send you a PM with my cell #, worst that could happen is we get the chance to chat about detecting.

Check you PM's and thanks for the respons.

Sincerely,
Ned

Hey Ned the Bogue Pier is withen walking distance from where I stay. My In-Laws have a place down there, and I can stay for free. I really like EI.

I wish you luck with your trip. Heck why not take the detector? Even if you only use it one time. Enjoy yourself, beale.

Thanks Beale,

I know the EI and Bogue Pier, rather well these days. I spend alot of time around there when visiting my dad who lives in Swansboro, 10 min drive and I'm at the Pier. I just cross the bridge, over the ICW, and Im there. To bad your not going to be there whild I'm there, maybe someday we will cross paths while we are both in that area at the same time. I usually go down to visit twice a year, but this time I'm going to bring my detector and spend a little time hunting the beaches there. Again thanks for your reply and hope to meet up with you someday.

Bump, still looking to sse if anyone from or near to Onslow County, NC will be free to do some detecting. Send PM to me, or post here, if interested.

Sincerely,
TigerNed
