I have heard that this will be available very soon...
I don't have any information(specifications) on this coil. However, a C.W. U.S buckle has been reported found with the prototype at over 2 feet deep.

Been going to make the 3 hr. trip to Sweet Home--I know I am now--Hopefully Monday-----Hello to Both STEVES at WHITES----------DeathWind1

and it's about time. <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)">

Hi Steve,
By chance did you have one of these to try out at Ganes or Moore Creek?
Thanks
HH, Tom

Hi Tom,
Nope, but I'll be buying one. Right now I have the 12" HotShot and the 18" EXcelerator. The 14" should fill the gap between these coils nicely.

Steve,
Should work out good for those big tailing piles up there and a better size than the 18" for poking around in the brush too.

Steve,
Man am I glad that I'm not the only one who bought the 18" DD. I have limited usage on it,but in the hot red soil of the goldfields of the N.W. Mojave, it's very quiet and stable.
I would like to hear what your experience has been and whats the deepest you've found something with it. Oh yes, and hows it for finding nuggets?

Hi Randy,
See my report at http://www.findmall.com/cgi-bin/forums/mxt_detector/whites.pl?read=6916
Bottom line is I think the 18" is a good coil, but it is certainly a niche coil due to its size and weight. It is not for everyone, but for someone like me it is a "must-have".
I think one reason I do well compared to some people I have hunted with is I have multiple machines with multiple coils. I personally have no use at all for the "best machine" mentality as I do not believe there is any such thing. So when I hit a certain area with a another person 90% of the time they only have one machine and one coil that they use for everything. I'll have a particular unit/coil combo I picked just for that days detecting out of my detecting "tool box". Having that ability to customize my tools for the job does give me that little edge over the other guy.
So that 18" will be the coil for that particular set of circumstances I'll run into someday. The other guy will be saying something like "well, yeah, you found more stuff. You covered more ground with that big coil than I could" or "well, yeah, you found more stuff. You got more depth with that big coil than I could".
A good set of wrenches will beat a pair of pliers in most cases.

I think its a winner--much quiter than the 14-18 EX.Try to get out on Thur. to compair again against the 14 EX-I think I will be selling the 14 EX.--If you wont 1 get it early as only 500 a mo. are being made--It is a VERY quite around power lines--I tried it on the football field in Sweet Home today --Normal power lines near buy and the EX.was a lot noiser---There will be a Christmas special on it---deathwind1

$249.95--BUT there will be a Christmas Special---DeathWind1

I called White's today. They told me it was coming out soon at 249.00 but the christmas special was going to be only if you bought a new detector. The size was 8x14. Give us some more reports Deathwind1 whenever you get out to use it.HH AF

I've been testing their proto-type and turned it over to Tom Collins, my former Teknetics Distributor who hunts exclusively with a DFX.
I also let him try the 14" Excelerator Coil for comparison purposes.
I'll just highlight Tom's comment on the new White's 1400 Coil: " OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE ".
Tom was taking it to Golden Gate Park, SF so I'll be anxious to know the details.
