with a CoinStrike of course

Going to have to save up for a 10" coil again as that is my favorite coil for the C$. Anybody have one they would want to part with I would appreciate you saving it for me.

I've got a F70 and got another Coinstrike with 8" and 5" coils about a month ago. I had one several yrs. ago and had to have another one. Places where I have trouble with the F70 because of elec. interference, I can use the Coinstrike. I never thought I'd have 2 Fishers as my only detectors but I'm very glad I do now. They both are great detectors. I've had Minelabs, Garretts, Whites etc. These 2 Fishers will do as well and sometimes better than all the others I've had. You can't go wrong with this combo.

Mike, I have had three Coinstrikes and I had good luck with them. I was just thinking yesterday while I was detecting how good that detector was in trash. I had some of my best days with a C$. I don't have a bundle of money so if I want to try a new detector, I will sell one of the two detectors I have. When the C$ sold, I had a CZ 70 and it. I had them both for sale and the C$ went first. I wish I had been satisfied and kept both of them instead of searching for the perfect detector. I had two of the best and didn't know it at the time. R.L.

Mike didn't you put together the C$ page with all the good info ??? Do I sense some updates in the future

One last question...Mike I've used the 10.5" coil quite a bit, and never felt it did any better depth then the 8" stock coil, although it weighs a TON more to swing.

Any tricks or tips when using this coil ?

Well....I can't talk it up too much yet cause I don't want the trade deal to fall through.... :sadwalk: :wiggle:  :bouncy: :lmfao:

Me too. There are places where I had to run at 0 (zero) sensitivity and around a -30 threshold to get it stable.

Even nearby thunderstorms affected me.

The good side is you can pretty much tell if you need to pay attention to where you are stabbing your probe or digger as it let you know that underground lines were somewhere around.

Worse machine I ever used. All it ever finds is those steel bottle caps and displays those mysterious numbers 51, 72, and such that don't mean anything.

A guy should be glad to get rid of it in a good trade deal.

:detecting:

John has the Coinstrike homepage. He just let me add some info. I may ask him if I can add some more to it.

But keep in mind this IS a discontinued metal detector.

Cal, you can run the 10" coil like a DD. I prefer DD coils as I like the ground coverage.

That's amazing as EMI is the one thing that kills my C$

There is one field I had my F70 at and it went nuts. I tried reset, reducing sens. and made no difference. I went back to the truck and got the Coinstrike and it worked fine. Not sure why it did work but it did.

Tom,

Thanks,

So not really any deeper then the stock coil, just better ground coverage ?

I just picked up a used Sun Ray probe from Richard at Backwoods Detectors (great deal, and great guy to deal with!). It's been a while since I used my C$, so I took it out for a spin tonight at a California Mission era site I've been hitting hard tonight (not sure if I like the probe on the C$ as much as I do on my Sov to be honest, needs further testing though). Didn't find much, but that C$ is like ridding a bike, once you learn it, you never forget it. I love the small 6" coil for tot-lots and trashy areas too.

BTW I picked up a new F5, and it's a LOT like the C$ in a lot of regards (gain=sens, and the threshold is very similar to the threshold on the C$, can set it for the same coin tones as the C$ too, and it has a fast grab like GB similar to the C$).

Brian
