I think there is too much BS being posted on this forum and personal bickering stuff should be left to PM's and not out there on the forum for all of us to read. I personally like to read and look at the great pictures of posts worth looking at and those of you who have disagreements with this and that should keep your thoughts to PM's. You guys know who you are and I would think that the Guvner and others on this forum would have to agree with me. I realize that it is winter time and detecting is at a standstill for a lot of us and cabin fever maybe setting in, but the bickering is not what this forum is all about. Just my two cents worth. HH to all and those of you who can still hunt, keep the great posts coming............:)

Its not just your forum. I dont mind people trying to find solutions to problems they may be having with their detectors. It does help people like me looking to buy another detector make choices. Especially if the problem isnt a problem. I want to know the goods and bads of a detector not just that it will go to china.... then ooooops my bad forgot to tell you its in the shop all the time becaue of a known problem. I like good service and warranties after the sale id just assume NOT to have to use them.
 
1) i really enjoy seeing and reading about everybody's finds and experiences. it keeps me excited about the hobby.

2) the discussions regarding technical issues and equipment comparisons are extremely helpful. the experience and expertise you all bring to the table is priceless.

3) this hobby's many ethical and legal problems should be openly debated here. where else?

we are all human, therefore opinionated and sometimes emotional.
i think it's healthy to disagree and argue sometimes.

i vote we "keep it real," so to speak.

I will agree with you on your first two points, but the third I am up in the air about. You seem to like debates, but when it comes to bashing, swearing and making others look bad on this forum then that's when those bickering should use PM's. I am not asking for any kind of a vote on this. I was just making a point and I bet there are more than not that feel the same as I do about what should or shouldn't be posted for all of us to read. Maybe the Guvner can open a debating forum..:)

My original intentions were to make a valid point based on a bad experience i had, but i couldn't do that without looking like i was pointing fingers and i didn't want to do that. I'll save that post for another day.
 
Bob....in the light of things......I am so glad you are on here posting away......and getting in trouble now and then....:poke: cause I sure do myself...when I rant and rave about the laws for metaldetecting.....I sort of swear and say mean things about the law makers....etc....I tend to forget that this is a more or less family forum and forget there may be kids reading these posts....and I also feel I must apoligize for my actions....I am just passionate about the hobby and get carried away sometimes......:angel:
 
Also there are many of you that have PMed me for help. And I have without hesitation responded with what ever I could to help. You all know who you are.
I think it's time for me to sit back and just read the posts and keep my mouth shut.
 
Hi all, I have an Explorer SE, this is my first machine, and I've only had it since July. So, I am no Pro by any means. I do most of my posts on the "Beach and Water Detecting Forum" and a lot of reading on this forum. I have gotten a lot of good info out of this forum. :thumbup:
Where I am going with this is, I feel everyone should be able to express themselves freely (minus the language) because you really want to know how well or bad things are. :thumbup: :thumbdown: That way you may have info that could help that person fix their problem, your input might just help them make a more educated decision, or someone may express themselves well enough, that it may open your eyes,:yikes: and see the issue in a different view than you have in the past, that's good too!
Someone stated about using PM's, yeah, that the ticket. When two or more Adults disagree on something, they usually hash it out between each other to see if they can get the other Adult (remember this only works with Adults now :thumbup: ) to under stand their feeling on the matter. If they can't come to an agreement, they just stop the PM's and go there merry ways, but if the light bulb turns on and one sees the others view, Great.
That was my thoughts of settling an Adult Difference of Opinion.
Now High Schoolers Difference of Opinion seem to be slightly different. They get together to hash it out too, but, they hash it out in front of half the school (Forum) :argue: to prove a point instead of trying to come to an agreement and nobody gets any good or educated Information out of that settlement.
I hope I expressed myself OK and I also hope everyone on this forum keeps putting their two cents in and doesn't keep their two cents in their pockets because I have picked up a couple of dollars worth of everyones two cents in the past month that I have been a member and I, and probably a lot of others would surely miss picking up those two cents which Helps us all get out there and detect for more and better flavored penny candy.
It's a good feeling when you can help others out and share the fun we all have in this wonderful Hobby.:clapping::twodetecting::detecting::clapping:

Well,I come to this forum to learn about my new se,have had good luck with it so far,yes I wonder if its really worth what I paid for it sometimes,but also wonder about that with everything else to,I to am also sick of the bickering,and wasting my time reading the BS probally from people who know less about the hobby than I do giving their opinions discourage new se owners or possible new hobbyist from getting into it!! Lets keep this a forum to learn from not for bashing companies or people who like their products!
