colonial finds

Here are some of the better finds I and my son(Mr. Lucky) have found at a colonial site. Mr. Lucky was using his MXT and I made my finds with the X-70 and 10.5DD coil. Even the small Cobb coin was found with the 10.5DD coil. I found the 1865 2 cent, 1863 Indian Head and the small Cobb . It weighs in at 1.6 grams so my book says 1/2 reale. I really can't make out the date, only the 7 and 3. So it could be 1673 or 173?. Mr. Lucky found the 8 reale cut in half for change. None of the finds were deep. The 1/2 reale was only about 2 inches. The Eagle I button was pre-civil war. Young and Smith Co. New York backmark. Found lots of musket balls and flat buttons and there was lots of other brass and copper peices but I like to show only the best finds.A friend went with us and really made some good finds but I don't have a picture yet but will show later. Can anyone identify the little hook? I have found lots of these at other locations.

Glad to hear you all made some nice finds. That old silver is really - REALLY nice. Of course I'm partial to silver! Thanks for sharing your pics.

If it don't start warming up here soon.....one of these days.:detecting:.you're going to hear a knock on the door! HH Randy

That is quite a range of finds there, very nice stuff too. I don't know what the hook could be, never found one like that. Ron
