cold, wet, snowy Detroit Zoo seniors day

Let my wife talk me into going to the zoo today with Plymouth Michigan's Council on Aging senior group. It was supposed to stop raining by early morning and be partly cloudy with a high of 56 degrees......HA! It rained all day, then it started snowing, most of the animals don't like getting wet, so they were in hiding, went into the bird house and butterfly house. The butterflies were all over the place they weren't cooperating much (mating season) they mate on the fly. The birds were somewhat calmer. We walked about 3 miles inside the grounds, there were no dry seats outside or under the pavilions, all the roofs leaked, no shuttle service (like we were told). Animal enclosures need to have more identifying signs all around the enclosure, not just one, a half mile around on the other side, grrrrrrr......... I have a couple pictures of my P.O.'d wife. I told her, at least I got some different pictures for my friends in far away places:bouncy: I have many more, so these are the first batch I have re-sized........nge

The giraffe is a nice photo of the abilities of its tongue.:clapping: I have always liked butterflies, especially those hanging out on flowers. Finally, the 4th photo draws my eyes to both the white and orange birds. I prefer the white, closer bird.

I would say that the old tiger looked relaxed and getting a good nap. Thanks for sharing these pictures. :clapping: Kelley (Texas) :)

I have heard of this Ron. And it makes sense... Rhinos look a lot calmer than hippos most of the time.
