cold weather drysuit

Any one out there ,can you recommend a good drysuit for cold weather that I can easily put on and off by my self ,and doesn't cost a fortune ?

Over the last 7 years I have learned a lot about drysuits by buying several, many fairly cheap. And finally I believe I have it down after 6 suits and maybe a total of 1300 dollars for all and the fact I'm not afraid to work on them now... all except zippers

First you have to tell me what kind of hunting you do, water temps, air temps, and wind. On the hunting do you hunt deep, shallow... wetsand or all.. And maybe I can suggest and show what I have now and what seems to be the best set up allowing me to get into low 30 degree waters chest deep for several hours. Also I need your size which is very important because you have to consider what your going to wear under to keep you warm. My setup now cost me in the area of 500.oo...And I believe it to be close to perfect for my needs.. and It will pay for itself...

It is not so much the Drysuit as it it the undergarments(s)...I use a DUI TLS front entry, for cave diving and winter Florida diving....The colder the water the thicker the undergarment...(Zeagle is a brand that I am using) but not sure of the availability..Viking is another brand...They must be able to wick sweat away from your body or you will freeze, thats why sweat shirts and pants do not work....

Last year I used a Hunter trilam drysuit with quilted military type under garment,........ it kept me warm for a few hours in 35 degree waters but this year I went after all the weak points of last years setup. I wanted to extend my Two plus hour hunt time, cold hands and feet after this period, and having to go...P........this can eat up 15 to 20 minutes of in the water time if you have to come out from deep then return.

This year's setup, a DUI TLS 350, I'm a large but bought a XL so I can wear better undergarment... Weezer Extreeme under garment, SI Tech Dry Gloves, Thinsulated Boots, and a Light Monkey P Valve..my base I wear Rocky Base Layer thermal which is very light and seems to wick away any moister. The only problem I'm working on now is Buoyancy...Water is still warm here being in the low 50's but another month I hope to be well, and in the water often.. All was purchased off ebay, total is around 500.oo. I figure five gold's will cover this......

First test hunt with the suit shallow since I'm not suppose to be out due to a resent operation. I hate shallow but it gave Gold Ring #119 for the year...also testing the New Deteknix Xpointer Diver

Thanks for the great information.

Hi,
I want to get into some shallow water hunting. I am a certified open water diver, but I never went metal detecting while diving. I live in NJ as my name implies I want to try some of the rivers in NJ. I never used a dry suite. I guess that would be the way to go in NJ, for at least 6 months of the year. Can you guys help me out? I do have a 3mm wet suite that will work for the summer months. This is all new to me.
Jim
