So I thought why not. cold day but hey kids go sleight riding right? I did when I was a kid.
I got lucky to get a few wheat cents and two silvers, one mercury dime and one Washington quarter.

Thanks Mike. Yeah, real cold out there it takes a toll on the battery life in the machine and the phone.

Here is one from today, a 1920 mercury dime.

Big T-that's a great hunt! What machine were you using? My RNB battery on the Explorer doesn't give a hoot, neither does the CTX. I love some winter hunting!

Mike, I wasn't either up until a few years ago but there are no bugs, much less people and the digging is good. Certainly it is not for everyone and I don't stay out very long.

IDX, I use the Explorer II. My batteries are Enveloop and they last a long time. I guess I was out too many times and lost track of their power.

Nice finds, Tony. I agree, this kind of weather is the best for hunting. Especially when the parks are empty because of the cold. I went out this morning with the temp at 35 degrees, had the park to myself.

Thanks DougF. That is the way to do it! I am happy you were out there today.
Me, I am nursing a cold and hopefully it will be over soon.
