Cointrax/Baron questions?.....

Big Red 1

Hi all, just purchased a Cointrax Baron (Treasure Baron, originally sold by kellyco?) And it came with a separate deep search module. Now, I know you can use this module with the Pro Hunter module, but can you also use it with the original Cointrax (chip version 1.0 with no deep search built in, like the Cointrax II has built into it now? It will zap up to 3 times the power to the coil, so sure would like to try it, just don't want to blow up my new toy, using the wrong module, know what I mean? The Deep Search module, is powered by 8 more batteries, so it sounds like it will really kick some ass?
Any Discovery Electronics/Treasure Baron guys, still out there??? Thanks

Congrats with getting a CoinTrax, with the extra deep module that's allot of power. What size coil did you get?

Yes you can use the deep module with the CoinTrax, at least I think you can but most likely you won't need it. Plus, the extra weight from the 8 AA batteries is too much for me to handle, but that's me the extra weight and my ground won't allow the extra power.

So yours has the 1.0 chip? That's the older CoinTrax version but still works ok, give it some time it took me a while to get a grasp with the features and such when the CoinTrax module first came out.

I have a few CoinTrax modules, a few Goldtrax modules and one Prohunter module, one sand module but no more deep modules. Ground won't allow the extra power so I sold mine, Stock is deep enough for me.

Keep us posted with your CoinTrax experiences, hang in there the learning curve may be tough at the beginning.

Its fine to use the deephunter with any front module--but its worth it to upgrade a 2,2 chip w/Cointrax, its a totally new detector
& remembers settings. Running hi boost [40%] with a 10" loop can overdrive the front end, so you need to pick up the loop
about 2" above the ground. Its not a problem with the 5. 8, or DD loops.
Get a bungie cord if weight is a problem.

I alway's wanted to try a Cointrax as I hear there depth rivals a CZ? Also they have a Two Tone I.D. with Modulated Audio which I love. You can't run your gain to high or you loose the Modulation is what I heard? If JB was still around I know He would have a comment or Two as He was the Treasure Baron foremost expert!
