Coinstrike lovers rejoice

I just picked up 2 brand new Los Banos manufactured (1022 serial numbers) Coinstrikes, off the auction site, and there is another one listed there from the same seller (priced at 399). This is a steal for a brand new detector with this kind of power. Even has the 5 year warranty (though lifetime would be better, but hey...) I figured I'd let you guys know, because that is the best bang for the buck I've seen brand new with a warranty.
I realize these detectors are not that popular, and I honestly have no clue why, as they are deep, powerful, and have a super fast response. Sure, the buttons take a bit of getting used to, and the menu system setup is not the most intuitive I've ever seen, but if you can learn to use a PC this isn't that bad. People complain they are heavy, hey you want heavy, try a "down under" machine, then we're talking heavy, this is a lightweight to me and I'm not built like popeye. I've swung the explorer II and that is a beast!

Anyway, I just wanted to let you guys know in case someone is interested, I can't believe these are going this cheap. It's a steal, in my opinion.

And, also for those who are interested brand new ID Edges are going for the same price on the same site. Again brand new with warranty. That's not much more than you'd pay for a cheap detector, another steal in my opinion. Get em while they last. I'm giving serious thought to adding an Edge as well.

Well it's one of those things where the f-75LTD is grabbed all of the attention and people falling for over priced hype!

bought me 1 used but in mint condition haven't got much time 2 use it yet but will be i like the set up it's smart. they listed for over a $1000.00 in the 2000 fisher catalog let me know how u like it. my s# is also 1022

Haven't take it out yet as it's winter here, but I like what I see. I was expecting some really heavy monster of a machine and it's not heavy to me even with the Sunray probe. Just playing around I can see it has great target separation. The buttons take a bit of getting used to. I'm sure it has a learning curve, not a classic "beep-dig" machine, but the F75 isn't either. It's not rocket science to use either one, but if you come from a background where you just want "beep-dig" you might not like machines like this. If you have an open mind and are willing to invest the time, it seems to me like this will find some keepers (same as the F75).

I just can't believe how cheap these and the Edges are going. You can get top of the line performance for the price of something much less, brand new with warranty. One thing though, you will probably want to pick up a Sunray probe if you get a Coinstrike, because the smaller coil for it is no longer made and hard to find, but with the Sunray probe you can use the smaller Edge coil which is still fairly easily available. Once I bought the detectors, I grabbed the coils as well, figuring who knows how much longer they will be around too. Just have to wait for spring to see what they will do in the field.

By the way I screwed up I swear I saw a 1022 serial number on these but re-checking them, it's actually 1008. So I'm not sure what that does to things and if these are Los Banos or El Paso. I guess as long as they perform, I don't really care!

I found some nice silver with one when they first came out but indeed a learning period and would have kept mine if it didn;t call every rusty beer cap a dime...Certainly a lot of bang for the buck for a nice unit and am sure someone has found a way to tell a rusty cap from a dime..If so let the forum know as inquiring minds would like to know...
Thanks for sharing info and have a Merry Christmas...

For what it's worth, the T2 and F75 are pretty much the same way. The T2 loved those rusty bottle caps, but target separation was insanely fast, like the C$. They are similar units from what I can see in a lot of ways. And you can't get a T2 now, at least not for a price we'd want to pay. I watched a T2 LTD go for over 2100 on the auction site last night. I just sat and watched it and wondered if it was some kind of a joke. I kid you not - it ended at 2135. Wow. Makes me wish I'd have kept that T2 I had as I could have sold it for twice what I got a year ago....oh well who knew. Anyway I'm looking forward to using the C$ for years to come. Rusty bottlecaps aren't too bad in my area, you find a few, but the soil around here isn't carpeted with them like it is with nails and iron.
