Coinstrike in "hunted out"park today

Well-known member
Some little goodies I found today hunting a park that has been detected for years and as people say "hunted out" not so and this park has can slaw from hell. Dragoon button, musket ball (small one), 2 silver dimes, a spoon, that round thing and the assortment of junk.

Way to go. I've always enjoyed hunting what some call Hunted Out.
I won't spend all day on those sites but sa couple hours here and there.
I did a site once where some Big headed E-Trac boys visited and told me
we cleaned that place out. Guess what, my Almighty DEUS proved them
wrong. I put together a complete glass case 11"x11" with old, old coins,
relics and jewelry. I laughed all the way home. It's not the machine, it's the
MAN behind it. I own a Coinstrike also and it LOVES ROUND and Iron.
Looking at your pictures , that proves my point!!!
Good job and have a Stellar year. ..

Thanks, I was using the 8" coil (only coil I have for the coin$)and going slow and winding my way thru the junk. dug a bunch of trash but it pays in the end. I have been using the CZ's for many years and this coin$ came up for sale and I decided to try it out had 1 years ago and never used it. I can pretty well tell if it deep iron just by the way the numbers jump and the sound is uneven a good target is almost always a smooth sound and as far as coins I know what it is before I dig it.

I was so impressed how well it can hold a steady threshold in heavy iron infested ground ( park that ive pounded with a few machines sovereign and explorer)
the machine is very solid using any coil. If you are not using the 5-12-99 settings give it a shot. pm me and I can explain and i can pass on some othet good information if you like.

What is 5-12-99?

kevin,
He's suggesting a Sensitivity 5, Threshold minus 12, and Iron Disc 99.... but, of course, there is no minus 12 Threshold. (It goes in increments of 5, so he may have meant minus 15?)

Bill Ladd recommended a (slightly different) Sensitivity 5, Threshold minus 25, and Iron Disc 99 as a 'universal' starting setting.

I've found the sensitivity and threshold needs to be adjusted to the existing ground noise and EMI...and that no 'universal' setting will work for everyone, everywhere.
They are good starting setting, though.

I think the point with the Coinstrike is that you shouldn't be afraid to try turning down the sens and thresh...as opposed to simply dialing everything up to 'max', and expecting more performance.
Sometimes turning things down actually works better.

Yeah, I have one with both the 10 and 8 inch coils. It's a great detector away from EMI. I wish there was a fix for that problem. I now use a F75ltd and a T2+ as my main machines.

That's strange cause I never got EMI disturbance with my Coin$ runs smooth. Ok the 12 Threshold throw me off. I run Sens. 9-10, threshold at 0 and dics.99 but I do have very neutral soil in Florida.

Mine picks up EMI bad, but the one I have was from the first batch out. I am sure they got tweaked for what people were complaining about.
