Coinstrike Depth Questions For Users

Prospector

New member
I presently own a CZ-5, Tesoro Compadre, and recently picked up a like new Coinstrike. I think I am beginning to learn how to set it up by using around in the yard. My question is this, what kind of depth are you guys getting on coins, rings, etc? I know the ground conditions have a lot to do with it, but please give me some averages, or perhaps some of your deeper finds. Doesn't seem to be as deep as my CZ-5, but may work really well around old home sites in the trash.

It's as deep as any Fisher made.

If you try, and operate it like you would your CZ 5, you will be disappointed. CZ's are a slow unit, and the Coinstrike is fast. Fast processing, fast coil sweep, and semi auto ground balance with ground tracking.

A good start would be to set discrimination at 99, (it's for iron disc,), sensitivity at 5, and the threshold around 15 to 25.

Have fun

High conductive, round targets are it's strong suit & what it was designed to find rather than rings. Hence the name "Coinstrike". It will be better in iron for you once you really get a grasp on what it's telling you. In fact, it's one of the better units in thick iron with one of the 5" coils attached. I like the Fisher made one the best as it has the nice donut hole for pinpointing.....
