Coinstrike and 5 " coil

Elton

New member
I have posted some finds about using the coinstrike............

After still only using FP and a 5 Inch coil I am more than happy with the results.

Silver dime detected at 6 Inches in solid trash area The iron mask works perfectly
Indian Head picked out of heavy trash at 7" depth 1887
Indian Head picked out of heavy trash area 6" 1864 Fat Boy
Silver quarter picked out at 6" in a heavy pull tab and trashed area of old park
Many many wheat cents picked out heavy iron infested area.
Have not dug one*1) old rusty nail----- Have dug a few bottle screw caps
Nickles heavy trash area no problem

The above is factual finds and not just say so's.............this machine in FP and iron mask on 99 is truly a trash picker..It works exceptionally well, runs quiet, stable no falsing and it eats good targets. I was and still am surprised at how well it does. It works good in every location I have tried.
I am able if I desire to go over zinc pennies due to the number they read and ignore them. Silver coins read high numbers without fail 40's and 50's numbers. The top of box guide is very close to accurate on the readings in the field. It is very light weight easy to swing and the swing speed does not matter that much..You do get a little feed back on real fast swings at the end of swing and on your come back swing...if you go really fast. All in all I would say this is a very underrated detector from what I have read.......Once you do the set up the machine does the rest.....Pull tabs are not a problem once notched out they are pretty much gone.....In fact I have dug wheat cents and the hole had a few small tab pieces in the dug out dirt.
The fat boy Indian did read low on the scale within the pull tab range but gave a louder response and read 11 on the meter.. You do not mind the very few digs when it's junk because there are so few of them it's insignificant...........It's a coin hound !!!! Thought I would share this. try it you will like it.

took your advice and others and got the coinstrike from a well respected person on the forums. after much searching for what i think will be a great all around detector, i settled on the coinstrike. i hear it is a relic killer also. can't wait to give it a run. i never had a fisher before. keep the posts coming, Elton. love to hear about the coinstrike. hh

T-Bird.you made a good solid choice. Work with it, and it will give you a nice return.
It's a little tricky at first and a little hard to understand what Fisher wants you to do on setup, but it's simple once you catch on...Remember FP(Factory preset) works very very well in trash areas............. Go to menue M( Memory) scroll up till it reads FP press pinpoint search and then ground balance.
You wil be very surprised at the great results... After thats mastered play with the tracking and threshold settings..Tracking requires a - 5 or -10 at least.
It works even better a little more down if it's a lot of trash in the area. The 99 setting for iron works in parks..I would think for relics you may want less didcrimination. I have not tried relic hunting so someone else may know a lot more about that. Let me know how you like it and post us some awsome finds.
