These were not in ground but air tested and the detector set at default with the exception of the tone setting which I set to 4H.

Silver Half 88 H
Silver Quarter 83 H
Silver Dime 72 H
Silver Nickel 30 H (1942)

Clad Quarter 80 H
Clad Dime 71 H

IH Penny 58 M (read zinc)
Cu Penny 70 H
Zn Penny 60 M
72 Penny 70 H

V Nickel 28 H
Buf Nickel 29 H
Jef Nickel 29 H

Class Ring 31 H
Wedding Band 68 H
Wedding Band 34 H
St.Silver Band 66 H

I think that "playing" with the audio may help to distinguish how you want to hunt. I realize too that in ground may be different on the results but this is a start...tnx Richardntn

I apprecaite you bringing that to my attention...I didn't check the date..here is what I got when I rechecked...

1901 Barber Dime 75 H
1937 Mercury Dime 73 H
1954 Roosevelt Dime 72 H

Penny 1982 71 H
Penny 1972 70 H
Penny 2003 60 M

1982 was a transition year from copper to copper clad...Possibly you are going to get either reading on that year...Thanks Again, Richard

Thanks for your data Richard.

Being a 'Limey' (UK) your coin data (TID) is a good reference for reading future F75 US posts.

Can you help me on the ring data.?

What were the actual carat rating of the 3 samples you've listed.

Wedding band 34, Wedding band 68, Class ring 31.

Is it possible to give dates for ALL the coins listed?

Thanks in anticipation of your answere....MattR.UK.

What good would posting the Karat marking on the rings do??? The diameter and cross sectional area are the main factors in how gold rings read.
