Coins on edge observations

Anyone else noticing their coins found on edge seem to be way up from their Etrac? Makes me wonder what I have missed. I found the deepest quarter, about ten inches, I have ever dug yesterday. Granted the signal was barely audible but I found it non the less. I also found two rings yesterday and one on Friday making three for the weekend!!! All silver still no gold...

The quarter was in a ballfield no where near water. I couldn't believe it when I heard the signal ever so slight, I cross checked the signal and it hit both ways so I dug. I couldn't find it with my pin pointer initially but I kept after it and it paid off-turned out to be a 1970 Washington. I found the two rings in the same ball field, still have half of right field, all of center and left field, then three other fields besides that!

I guess ball fields are like outdoor basketball courts. If you're swinging your arms, running or shooting shots it's easy for things to come out of your pockets and off your fingers.

WOW a 10" clad quarter...I would have packed up and left. Hopefully that whole place isnt like that. I do agree with you though that I am finding many on edge coins as well. When you say "barely noticeable" what is your gain set at? All of my signals
appear to be pretty loud and repeatable. My gain is 30

I only have a few hours on mine but I also have noticed that I pciked some stuff on edge. I have been running through a soccer field for some easy pickings. With my Etrac I typically pick up a couple of those metal buttons from tournaments here and there. I noticed I am all of sudden coming home with several at a time. Even the ones that may be munched by a lawn mower get good hits. I think that may be an indication of good things to come.
