Coins next to iron

I'm having problems finding coins in trashy areas. I've been running in conductivity mode and using minelab 7.5 inch coil but thought I would try ferrous again. If running in ferrous, will a silver coin next to iron give a high pitch sound if the crosshair is left of center. Any other advice would be greatly appreiated. HH Gary

Gary,
I hope you are running in iron mask mode at a -8 or better if you are looking for coins close to iron. If you are not than it will be harder to find them if at all possible. You will have to go slower and run the fast recover and listen close from what I have expereinced. Also dont beleive the crosshairs in these areas and go more buy the audio and and how it respones.
Good luck.
Rick

You know Gary, I never checked one for audio in ferrous mode.. next time I find one I think is a coin in iron reading left I will try and remember to switch to ferrous.. I would think if the audio responds according to cross hair position it would be a higher tone than iron, but probably much lower then coin.. but I suppose while right over the coin you could get a coin tone..
