Coins in the Jug Answer . . . . $464.12

The coins in the jug are the result of 2008's searches - by me and my family.

The total in the jug was $464.12

The breakdown is:

- Pennies: 107 rolls = $53.50
- Nickels: 26 rolls = $52.00
- Dimes: 38 rolls = $190.00
- Quarters: 16 rolls = $160.00

Total in rolls: $455.50
Loose change: $8.62

Since there was one person that came with $1 of the total (pretty amazing), I am going to add to the pot and award books to the top three entries (that followed the rules and had the guess in the subject line), with the one that got within $1, also getting a silver coin from a cache my son and I found in Pennsylvania.

Thanks for the entries, hope you all enjoyed it . . . . there is another contest coming soon related to finds from water hunting in 2008.

In looking over all of the entries where the $$$ guess was in the subject line . . . sorry if you had a good guess that was in a message . . . . the following entries were the closest and hence the winners of their choice of one of my books. I've PM'd the three winners for their choices.

The entries and winners are:

1st: Delaware Detecting with an entry of $463.72 which was off my an amazing $0.40!
2nd: Digger with an entry of $466.88 which was off by $2.76
3rd: labeachbum with an entry of $468.78 which was off by $4.66

Delaware detecting was also within $1 of the actual amount and will be getting a Walking Liberty half from a cache my son and I recovered from an old foundation in Pennsylvania.

Thanks for all the entries . . . . . hope it helped get through some of the cold winter weather!
