Coins from my fall field hunts...

Phil

New member
These coins are from a half dozen home and school sites in bean and hay fields within a few miles of my home. This isn't all of them, I gave away some large pennys and IH pennies to the land owners. I also didn't include any buttons, bullets, buckles or heel and toe plates found. There are 6 large pennies, 3 IH fatties, 9 later IH pennies, 3 shield nickels, 2 V nickels, 2 merc dimes, a seated dime and two tokens. About half were found with my MXT and the other half with my F70/6incoil.

That sounds like good locations to hunt at.
Some great finds that you made.:detecting:
Should be more there for you to find. I'd grid search some of those fields.
Congratulations.

There aren't many coins at these sites, most are home sites from right after the civil war but a couple were school sites from the same period. I got the mercs from the entrance to a hayfield where the farmer probably spent some time perhaps working on equipment.

Congrats on some good finds. The MXT is a good machine and will serve you well.
I'm still learnig mine and having a great time with it.

I've had mine 7yrs now and wouldn't trade it for anything. Even though I own several brands of detectors, when I just want to hunt coins and not mess with settings I grab the MXT.

Great finds there Phil. Very nice. Can you tell what years your cents are? I love the older coins and big congratulations on finding them. BIG thanks for sharing them with us. HH to all, Nancy

Nice finds Phil. :clapping:
