Coins coming out red at beach

eriks

New member
Curious if anyone knows why coins come out with reddish material at the beach? Wondering if these were pulled from the dry sand after sitting for a while.

It’s oxidation almost all my silver clad from beach come out this way I just put them in my tumbler with stainless steel shot
And Calcium lime and rust remover look great for spending

I was at the beach this morning and the coins I found were green. Red or Green coinstar likes them

I may be wrong but most modern coins have no silver the color is from nickel and the red is iron from the soil love'n the nickel they will clean or just dump in the coin star happy swinging
