Coins at 5 inches deep

Was out with the XLT for about two hours this afternoon.
Found a small beach and campground that has not seen a detector:thumbup:
Unbeliveable the amount of rusty beer caps there was in that site.
Hunted only a quarter of it had to check out most of those signals as out $1 and $2 coins
VDI close to those cap signals.
Found 7 pennies 1940 to 1950 made with copper.
Ended getting 1944 and 1947 silver dimes.
Found also a 1944 quarter (silver).
Just love to find these virgin sites that no one has done.:bouncy:
Looking forward to doing the rest of the location, unfortunately two hour drive distance.
Can,t wait to do the water with the BHID (recoiled) with the 12 incher.

Nice work Joel. Looks like it will be paying off for you for awhile. Keep us posted.

Just spent 3 hours at the Jersey shore recovering crusty bottle caps myself. The MXT was read a few in the quarter range, but most were ring up 17-25 VDI.
I was digging everything. The final result was (2) pennies, 16 bottle caps (stopped digging that VDI signal after a while). BUD caps beat out Corona caps 3-1!!
The real finds are in the water. Let us know how you do with the BHID.

nice haul. your location find is everyones dream spot. i'm looking to find what i hope will be the same as far as virgin. some guy named shariden
went camping around the n.w. area with his little army way back when. spent some time walking and camping between portland, or. and astoria, or. need to find his trail.
that travel time is a real bummer. having the same problem if i want to hunt real history sites. everything is umpteen miles away.
you have a great day. enjoyed your post. congrats on your finds. it would make my day just to find one of those coins.

Better than what I am finding lately...I need to find some of them Virgin Spots...

HH,

it's gitting easier to find a virgin in a whore house than virgin ground for mding. :beers:

I have to really agree with widebody. I live in Portland and it seems that everywhere I go people try and talk. And do they talk. Some even complain about the guys and gals in the hobby as they claim they have become a real nuisance.Portland has become a wonderful place to live. I tried going down the Columbia River and was told that the state and Federal Government want us not to bother any sites that have any historic value. If found, we are to turn in all finds and notify them ASAP.

i for one will hold off telling them anything. at least till i recover my treasure. i won't rob indian sites but the white man's sites are fair game. i'm not into relics. i want just the toys and coins. i'd still call a couple of folks in portland that are more into this hobby than me first. if they deemed it to be historical they can call the state or feds.

good finds Joel!!!! Can't wait to see what the water holds!!!

Nice Finds! Those kind of places are hard to find these days. Good deal of finding the location.
