Coinmaster Series 3 2000/D, would it make a good backup

At a estate auction tomorrow they have a Whites Coinmaster Series 3 2000/D for sale. I emailed the auctioneer and he sent me this info: It is a White's brand; Coinmaster Series 3 2000/D; Mfg in Sweet Home Oregon, #97386; Pat #4293816. he said It appears to be in very good shape and the wife says it works.

I plan on taking 9v batteries to test it with, and if it does work I was wondering how high to bid. So I thought maybe someone in here might know something about this late model MD and if they thought it would make a good backup. Not sure it's worth, maybe somewhere's between $50-100, is that about right?

I just checked Ebay completed, and this one sold for $100 plus shipping.

Tks for that info, I appreciate you looking that up. I already found the manual for it so I can test to see if it works right.

That, alone, should give you an idea about the value today.

Sometimes things sell on various bidding sites for more than I would think reasonable. Make that OFTEN, not sometimes. :yikes:

I have come across a couple of these in the last 6 years. One I bought, after installing a new 9V to make sure it worked as designed, for $20. The other, which I bought for $25, already was in operating condition. Both looked to be in about 9
