Took it on its first hunt yesterday, but due to the angle of control box IE LCD screen mounted on pole makes it hard to read in sunlight or view screen in a comfortable position to read. IT'S tilted mounted angled in wrong direction, it needs to be angled more towards the user. When held while scaning the screen sits facing straight up to much ...I think whites goofed... not sure I will keep the detector if I can't get use to it angle .I tried to show you a comparison with another detector. What do you think?

How is it mounted to the s-rod? I have bent my dfx and v3i pod to optimum viewing angle for me. It all comes down to how its attached.

If its secured with a couple screws just shim it to your liking with some nylon washers from the hardware store.

Theres gotta be a reason for that extreme screen angle one would think..maybe they did some deep research and it works better in the summer when the sun is at its zenith? Dont know..well, I'd like the 9 tones for sure...

How about putting on a sun-visor? on the machine, not you :)

I have the GT and haven't noticed what you just pointed out.

Although the pictures do show what you're talking about, but when you're actually sweeping and then STOP to view the screen, the ANGLE is still wrong?

Are you under 6ft tall? You may be right, maybe the GT was made for my height or taller....

Never noticed.

Hi Woody, On the tones do they have alot defence, is it easy to tell them apart? I have trouble with hearing and have trouble telling them apart. Thanks Flintstone

I'm 6 feet ,and I tried lengthing the rod to give it more angle, and it dosn't help.I've owned plenty of detectors and its mount angle is just wrong.I owned the Prizm V before and it wasn't a issue. They use two screws to mount it.to pole.I don't know if I can unmount it to maybe shim it.I know on Tesoro you unmountt it from pole and nut comes loose and you have to take faceplate off to start nut back on screws..Whites look more complicated and I don't want to mess it up and void warranty. I also was wearing polarized sunglasses and it didn't help reading screen..The nine tones on it are quite different sounding FYI Flinstone, which is nice so that they don't all blend in.

It sounds like something you want to call Whites about. Maybe they can adjust future
production for users...or mayne they can adjust the rode for you.

I have never tried this and don't know if it would work,
but what if you used a piece of "tint" the kind you would use
on your car window, and tape it on the face plate. Think this
might help? If it does, let us know.
