Anyone have any info on this old, but new to me detector. It is still brand new in the case and I know it was a retirement gift several years ago. Will this detector stand up to the more modern detectors and is it waterproof as far as the coil to look along beachs?

Hello,
try to download the manual from Whites:

Ciao.

I used a 5900 for a few years then traded it in on an XLT. I liked it. I think you can use the same coils as the XLT. You can read about it here.
