Here's a one-of-a-kind. This is not detector found, but I thought you'd get a kick out of it. My Grandfather was a coppersmith at Morse Chain Works in Ithaca. He worked on the Thomas-Morse Scout ~ our only domestic pursuit plane in WWI. He made this one, and another that's a miniature model of the biplane.

The pennies are 1909 VDB, 1910(2), 1911 and 1912(2). All plated with possibly gold or bronzed?? The $1 gold coin is 1857! I guess it's a good thing the hole obliterated the mint mark, because if it was a "D" or "C" my heart would break.

I wanted to comment on the POD button. I found one just like it here in Cleburne, TX. Do you have any history on it?

I was told U.S. Postal Service, first quarter of 20th century. Mine was found near Ithaca, NY.
