I know notching out foil and tabs can eliminate gold finds, but short of finding zincolns, what reason is there to keep zinc notched in ?

I notched out foil and tried a thin womans ring and it hit hard at TID#15. Probably wouldn't pick up thin gold chains (don't have one to try), but at least thin rings are still in.

Try to pick up a thin gold chain accepting everything-they have to be close and normally read iron. As to gold coins, someone has posted where they readout, but I'm not sure if it was with a CS. I think it was Danowski in his latest Fisher Intelligence. Why not just use the tones?:detecting:
