Coin Real? Fake?

I found this on a beach in Southern New Jersey that had beach replenishment done this past summer. On previous hunts I was finding WW2 items that were in the sand that had been dredged up. This coin was found about a foot deep. I took it to a jeweler friend that could only tell me that it was silver but had no other info on it. Any help would be appreciated.

If it is really silver it may be real. Most fakes are not made of real silver. Ones I have found have been almost black and look rough until cleaned.

The item looks to be a 4 or 8 reales cob from
The Mexico City mint, it has really good detail In
comparison to most of the cobs I've seen.
It's either been cleaned, or not in salt very long.
Real or not? Any updates from op?
