Coin Master find

I posted this on the MXT site but thought I would post it here as well since the find was with a Whites Coin Master that my buddy bought this spring .

My hunting buddy and me hunted different spots today and he came by a bit ago and he found his first standing Liberty quarter today it had the date all wore off of it but we were able to narrow it down to 1917 to 1930 or somewhere in between as it has the stars under miss Liberty. Its in really worn shape been used a lot from the looks of it . He was hunting with the new Whites Coin master in the park we hunted a lot .

nice find! i havent found any of the standing liberty quarters yet. ya when they minted those the dates were like the highest point on the coin kinda like buffalo nickels. the date dosent withstand much use before it is gone on those coins.

I can help narrow it down a little more, the mint went to the recessed date in 1925. Tell your buddy Congratulations Harold........

I see you've been quite busy lately Harold. Glad you're gettin to hunt. I'd give a body part to be able to dig up a zinc penny at the moment. ( Laid up ) Keep it up and good luck.

I know what you mean I have Lupus a blood disease and a year ago I had two heart attacks in one week so I understand how if feels to be laid up . Hope you get well soon and can get back out with little loss of time from hunting .

:clapping:The Quarter is just condition of Silver in the early 60's on my paper route before the Silver grab in 65 onnward. Nice find

When I was kid (a long long time ago) I remember the Standing Liberties. If I had known
or had even an ounce of imagination I'd have saved every dang one of them, along with the
Indian Head pennies that I had seen quite frequently. Now my mouth waters when I see any of them.
Hope one day to find one of those Standing Liberties in good condition.:sadwalk:
Congratulations!
Katz
