COIN MASKED BY OBJECT 4" AWAY

i tried my coin mode on the M-6 AND SET A QUARTER NEXT TO A ROUND METAL CAP IT WOULD NOT PICK UP THE COIN THE COIN WAS 4" FROM THE CAP WHEN I TURNED 90 DEGREES IT BEEPED BUT THE DETECTOR WANTS TO USE THE LARGER OBJECT SO HENS I GET NO SIGNAL AT ALL I THINK THE COIN MODE IS BOGAS UNLESS YOUR FINDS ARE NICLY SPACED , BUT ARE THEY? NO NO ONE SETTING ON M-6 IS BETTER IM USING THE 9.5 COIL AND I CAN SEE WHY TO SEARCH 90 DIGREES SOME OBJECTS MASK GOOD ONES EVEN AT 4 INCHES MOOR LATER

Anyone reading these posts should not be put off the M6 which is a very good machine as all makes suffer from target masking to some degree.
The XLT is far easier to use and deeper on heavy rubbish sites even with just a drop down to an 8" coil which still allows fairly rapid ground coverage.
