Coin/Jewelry Program

JimDE

New member
I live in Northern DE (commonly known as white clay country) and just got my Vision today. Well you know how it goes :bouncy: Yeah I have been spending a lot of time out in the yard tonight and it's now 0138 and I have a question. In the coin/jewelry program I was getting a lot of falsing (I could even touch the cable in the middle of the shaft, the coil itself, or the cable entry spot on the coil and cause a signal I could even wave it in the air and get a signal). I as sure I had a bad coil or cable but when I went to other programs the falsing went away (no falsing no matter what I did)

I then went back and turned down the 1st sensitivity to 7 and the disc to 80 and no more falsing. Anyone else have to turn down the coin/jewelry program to stop falsing? Or do you think I have a bad coil (hard to believe it would only happen on the coin/jewelry and slightly on the salt beach programs only if it was bad)

What do you all think?

JimDEIst Question I would ask my self: Am I properly Ground Balancing the machine? According to the manual which says push the Enter button, Pull the trigger and then pump. Let go of the Trigger first then the Enter button. Try this and see what happens.I find my self

coil cable tight..... cell phone turned off ....

take outside turn on coin&jewelry.....reduce gain till the bars stop popping up and down everything smooths out .....then tab over to sensitivity .....High light.... enter....... hit zoom button will give you the recommended Gain and tell you how much noise and signal loss % you have........if you have a mxt or dfx coil try it it but make sure the TX booster is off ......you can reset the C&J if you thing you got wild in OPTIMIZATIONS....Another I would like to see is the ground Probe readings in you yard jus highlight GRD and enter and Zoom it.....should give you some readings....
hope this helps and gives you some Ideals ......is this with wireless headphones.... variables.... all have to be configured in the equation......remember the thingy about locking in pinpoint.....when you do the ground pump Balance..... ...........The TX booster is for moderate GRD is it overloading???

Bob, you had me worried so I went and re-read the grounding procedure

"4. Hold Trigger & hold ENTER, pump search coil (loop) up &
down on the ground until background hum steadies, release
ENTER

Hi jimpugh,

Nice of you to help out. I left my cell phone on the other day, when I got a incoming call , My machine differently noticed to it. So now I cut my phone off.

Another time I was out with Terry here in Hawaii and when I turned on my machine his really took notice to my unit being turned on. We were about 3 feet apart.

I am still learning the V3, but having fun doing it.

So making adjustments I am getting used to. Still have alot to learn.

Maybe someday everybody can post what they have had to do when problems like these come up and some type of trouble shooting guide can be posted as a sticky.

Still along ways to.

I just took the Vision way out in the backyard and I was able to increase all the sensitivity level back up to the std program without issues. Old eyes and pitch dark make it difficult to do much out there at 0330 but it did show me obviously it was a location issue and not equipment. Funny though my DFX worked fine out front ....I thought

This machine must really be far more sensitive and powerful than the DFX ...... can't wait to get out tomorrow and give it a workout in daylight.

Thanks guys for the help ..... Jim I am using wired headphones GG NDT's, I will be aware of my cellphone, or for that matter all RF interference from now on.

JimDE,

Your Right!! I had it backwards .My Bad. Some times I do get things backwards. I know what I want to say but it doesn't always get from my brain to my typing fingers. Brain injuries (strokes) do that at times.

Sorry about that.

Back to the old days with my Whites 5000 D when you could not dig fast enough ....1980 targets every where sounding like popcorn.....

Any way I am really into this one and have been waiting a long time ......And now here it is......it is mind boggling what can be incorporated with this unit with wireless capabilities to be able to load its programs into all units within 30 feet.... set...up to receive......talk to computers .....talk to your GPS .... Black Berry .......who knows sounds like beginnings of hive technology... I would pay a little more if the next one has a hot coffee dispenser....

Happy Trails

Thanks again guys ......

Bob, I know what you mean .... I've had a couple strokes and TIA's myself. That why when I read the grd process my first thought was "crap I misread that" ;) Things do absorb slower after one of these brain events. Hope you are OK!

Good thing about this sport is I'd does give us mild exercise to keep our B/P's down.
